Atoms
Atoms are the building blocks of everything we know, except for maybe Keanu Reeves’ immortality.
These tiny particles are so small that you could fit 1 billion of them on the head of a pin, which is probably why ants love them so much.
Scientists have spent centuries studying atoms, trying to understand their secrets while also preventing them from turning into explosive bombs (looking at you, uranium).
Atoms are made up of even smaller particles called protons, neutrons, and electrons. While protons and neutrons like to hang out in the nucleus, electrons prefer to party it up in the outer shells.
Atoms come in all different shapes and sizes, kind of like snowflakes, but not as pretty. And just like snowflakes, atoms can bond together to form molecules, which is basically like atoms having a slumber party.
Some of the most well-known atoms include carbon, oxygen, and helium. Fun fact: Helium can make your voice sound like a chipmunk’s, which is the only reason it’s even remotely cool.
So there you have it, folks. Atoms might be small, but they’re mighty powerful. Just like a chihuahua barking at a pack of wolves.
