Bob Ross
Bob Ross was an American painter, art instructor, and television personality best known for his peaceful demeanor and his ability to create stunning landscapes in under 30 minutes. He is often referred to as the “happy little trees” guy due to his love for painting trees and his catchphrase “Let’s add some happy little trees”.
Born in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1942, Bob Ross did not pick up a paintbrush until he was 40 years old. In fact, he was originally in the military and served as a drill sergeant. It’s safe to say that his approach to painting was a bit different than his approach to training soldiers.
Bob Ross became famous for his television show “The Joy of Painting” which aired from 1983-1994. He would begin each episode with a blank canvas and in just 30 minutes, transform it into a beautiful landscape painting while teaching his viewers how to do the same.
Bob Ross’ signature afro, soothing voice, and calm demeanor made him an instant icon. Viewers were not only learning how to paint, but also relaxation techniques. After watching an episode of “The Joy of Painting”, you couldn’t help but feel relaxed and at peace.
Although Bob Ross passed away in 1995 at the age of 52, his legacy lives on. He continues to inspire artists of all ages and his paintings are highly sought after. In fact, there is even a Bob Ross themed cereal!
In conclusion, Bob Ross was a unique individual who brought joy and relaxation into the homes of millions of people. We may never be able to replicate his incredible talent, but we can certainly try to channel his happy little spirit.
