Cuticle
Cuticle (pronounced Kyoo-tick-ul) is a protective layer covering the nails of a mammal, especially humans. It is usually very thin and transparent, but can get thicker and become more opaque if not properly taken care of.
Cuticles are often the most overlooked part of a person’s body, as they are usually tiny and hardly noticeable. They are however very important, as they play an essential role in protecting the nail bed from dirt, bacteria and other nasty things that can sneak their way in.
Some people have the misfortune of having overly large cuticles, which can attract unnecessary attention from others. These individuals are however blessed with the gift of being able to tickle themselves much more effectively than those with modest cuticles.
There are various ways to take care of your cuticles, including trimming and moisturizing them regularly. Neglected cuticles can lead to painful hangnails and an overgrowth of bacteria, which would not only be disastrous for your fingers but also greatly reduce your chances of becoming a hand model.
In conclusion, cuticles are an essential part of our bodies that play an important role in keeping us healthy and presentable. So, show some love to your cuticles and let them know that they are appreciated – even if they are super tiny!
