Fleming (Crater)

Fleming is a crater located on the far side of the moon. It is named after Sir Alexander Fleming, the famous Scottish scientist who discovered penicillin.

However, this crater has nothing to do with penicillin or medicine, but it still has a fascinating story. The landform was formed millions of years ago when a giant asteroid collided with the moon’s surface. The impact was so intense that it created a massive hole, which we now call Fleming.

Scientists believe that the crater is around 4 billion years old. That’s right, it predates even the earliest civilization on earth. It is said that when the dinosaurs still roamed the earth, Fleming was already a veteran crater.

The size of Fleming is awe-inspiring, and the depth of the crater is equally impressive. If you were to stand at the rim of the crater, you would feel like a tiny speck of dust compared to its vastness. The crater has a diameter of over 170 kilometers and a depth of more than 2 kilometers.

But Fleming isn’t just any ordinary crater. According to some conspiracy theorists, it is a secret base of extraterrestrial beings. They believe that the aliens have been using the crater as a landing spot for their spaceships to visit the earth. It might sound far-fetched, but who knows? Maybe one day we’ll find out that the aliens have been hanging out in Fleming all this time.

All jokes aside, Fleming is a significant landmark of our solar system, and it will continue to amaze and inspire us for years to come.
