Henry IV, Pts. 1 and 2

Henry IV, Pts. 1 and 2 are a pair of plays written by the great William Shakespeare himself. They tell the story of King Henry the Fourth of England, who is having a bit of a rough go of it as he tries to keep his kingdom united.

But let’s be honest, the real star of these plays is Falstaff, the lovable and overweight knight who steals every scene he’s in. Falstaff is the kind of guy who would rather drink and party than fight in battles, which makes him the ideal friend for Prince Hal, Henry’s son and heir to the throne.

Prince Hal spends most of the first play hanging out with Falstaff and drinking until he’s completely wasted. But by the second play, he’s grown up quite a bit and takes his role as heir very seriously. And even though Falstaff tries to weasel his way into Hal’s good graces, the Prince ultimately has to cut him loose in order to become the king he needs to be.

Despite the serious themes of warfare and politics, Henry IV, Pts. 1 and 2 are both full of hilarious moments that will have you laughing out loud. Whether it’s Falstaff’s ridiculous antics or the witty banter between characters, these plays are a must-see for anyone who loves a good laugh.

So put on your laughing pants and get ready to enjoy one of Shakespeare’s most entertaining plays. With Henry IV, Pts. 1 and 2, you’re sure to have a good time – just don’t forget to bring the popcorn!
