Primate

A primate is a funny creature with hair on its head and body, opposable thumbs, and a knack for causing mischief. These little guys come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from tiny pygmy marmosets to big, burly gorillas.

Although you might think of monkeys when you hear the word primate, that’s only part of the picture. Other primates include lemurs, tarsiers, and even humans (yes, we’re a type of primate!). Just don’t tell the monkeys, they already have big enough egos as it is.

Primates are known for their playful antics, such as throwing poop, stealing food, and making funny faces. They also enjoy grooming each other (and occasionally humans), which often turns into a tickle fight.

One of the most famous primates is the chimpanzee, known for its intelligence and ability to use tools. They’re like tiny little MacGyvers, except instead of making bombs out of toothpicks and chewing gum, they use sticks to fish termites out of their nests.

Unfortunately, many primates are endangered due to habitat loss and hunting. So next time you see a primate, give it a smile and a wave. Just don’t try to groom it unless you’re prepared to get into a tickle fight.
