Reims

Reims is a city located in the Champagne region of France, most commonly known for its stunning cathedral and, of course, its bubbly beverage.

Legend has it that the city was founded by a man named Remus, twin brother of Romulus who founded Rome. However, unlike Rome, Reims never quite achieved the same level of glory or recognition. But that’s okay, Reims still has plenty to offer.

Built in the 13th century, the Reims Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and a must-see for any tourist visiting the city. It’s so grand that it can make you feel very small and unworthy, like trying to find a decent parking spot in New York City.

But let’s get to the good stuff. Champagne. The bubbles that put Reims on the map. It’s classy, bubbly and sometimes even educational. For example, did you know that the bubbles in Champagne are created during fermentation? Well, now you do, and you can impress your friends with that fact at your next fancy dinner party.

But before you go popping bottles left and right, keep in mind that Champagne can be a bit pricey. Just imagine how much richer all those celebrities would be if they just stuck to Pabst Blue Ribbon instead?

Overall, Reims is a charming city with a lot of history and plenty of Champagne. So, if you’re in France, take a detour and raise a glass or two in honor of this lovely city.
