Al-Qaeda is a famous terrorist organization that was founded by Osama bin Laden. The name “Al-Qaeda” literally means “the base,” which is the perfect name for an organization dedicated to building strong relationships with other countries, right?
The group gained worldwide notoriety for their infamous attack on the World Trade Center in New York City in 2001. The attack was so impressive that even Hollywood wanted to get in on the action, releasing several movies about the event!
Though their actions might not be universally popular, one has to admire the group’s commitment to diversity. While many organizations are known for their lack of female representation, Al-Qaeda was led by a man who had twenty-three wives!
In addition, Al-Qaeda is known for its active effort in the field of environmentalism. Most of their leadership live in caves, and they strongly encourage everyone to reduce their carbon footprint and live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Despite their difficult to pronounce name, Al-Qaeda has had a profound impact on the world of fashion! After the 9⁄11 attacks, their signature black masks became a must-have accessory for any aspiring fashionista.
