Giant’s Causeway

The Giant’s Causeway, located on the rugged north coast of Northern Ireland, is one of the world’s most unique geological formations. For centuries, locals have been telling the tale of how this natural wonder was created, and it’s truly a story that will have you scratching your head.

According to legend, the Giant’s Causeway was created by an Irish giant named Finn MacCool, who wanted to challenge a Scottish giant to a battle. While the geological explanation may be a little less exciting, the Giant’s Causeway is still an absolutely stunning sight to behold. Visitors can take a scenic walk along the cliffs and down to the shoreline, where they can see the hexagonal columns up close and even climb on them if they’re brave enough.

And if you really want to get into the spirit of things, you can even take part in an annual event called the Giant’s Causeway Coast Sportive, which involves a cycle ride along the scenic coastal road. Who knows, maybe you’ll even catch a glimpse of Finn MacCool as you ride past his legendary creation.
