Discovery and Background

The Great Wall was built way back in ancient times, and I mean like wayyyyy back! People started building this colossal wall around the 7th century BC (that’s over 2,000 years ago, folks!). Back then, China was divided into separate kingdoms squabbling over land and power. Someone (brave and smart, for sure) came up with the brilliant idea to build a ginormous wall to keep out unwanted visitors, like pesky invaders or traveling salesmen.
