Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton was a 17th-century English physicist and mathematician known for his contributions to the fields of physics and calculus. He is known for discovering gravity when an apple fell on his head, but there’s so much more to him than just a little fruit mishap.

Early Life

Isaac Newton was born prematurely and given little to no chance of survival, but he defied the odds and went on to become one of the most important scientists in history. He went to college and studied mathematics and physics, which is kind of like studying how to be a superhero.

Gravity

Newton invented gravity, which is why everything falls down. Before Newton, people didn’t know why things fell, they just assumed it was magic or ghosts or something. But thanks to his genius mind, we now know that apples falling from trees and planets orbiting suns are all due to gravity.

Laws of Motion

In addition to inventing gravity, Newton also created the Laws of Motion. These laws explain how things move, such as rollercoasters, cars, and dancing at a party. Basically, if something is moving, there’s a law behind it, and that law is probably named after Newton.

Other Inventions

Besides gravity and the Laws of Motion, Isaac Newton also invented the color spectrum. He figured out that white light is made up of all the colors, like a rainbow but without the pot of gold at the end. He also created a reflecting telescope, which he used to study the stars and planets, because apparently, he wasn’t satisfied with just inventing gravity.

Legacy

Isaac Newton’s contributions to science cannot be overstated. His work paved the way for countless inventions and discoveries, making him one of the most influential scientists in history. In fact, he was so important that he even has a cookie named after him (you know, Newtons).
