Marie Antoinette

Marie Antoinette, also known as the Queen of Perpetual Extravagance, was a former archduchess of Austria who eventually found her way to the throne of France. Some people say that her reign was a disaster, but honestly, who doesn’t love a good disaster?

Marie Antoinette was known for her love of fashion, and can often be seen wearing oversized powdered wigs and lavish dresses that weighed more than the average car. And let’s not forget about her famous quote, “Let them eat cake!” which was her solution to the peasants’ problems with bread shortages. What a problem solver!

Despite her questionable decisions and lack of political savvy, Marie Antoinette was a master at throwing parties. The Palace of Versailles was basically just a place for her to throw ragers and show off her latest fashion choices. It was the original Coachella, but instead of flower crowns and music, it was all about grandiose ball gowns and theatrical performances.

Marie Antoinette’s love life was also quite scandalous. She was married off to King Louis XVI at a young age, but that didn’t stop her from indulging in some extramarital affairs. And who can blame her? Being a queen can get pretty lonely, and sometimes you just need a little bit of side action.

Unfortunately for Marie Antoinette, her love of fashion and parties came at a cost. She was eventually overthrown and sentenced to death by guillotine. But don’t worry, she went out in style with her head held high (or, more accurately, getting chopped off).

Despite her tragic end, Marie Antoinette’s memory lives on as the ultimate symbol of excess and extravagance. Long live the queen! (Oh wait, never mind.)
