Muhammad

Muhammad, also known as the Prophet to his followers, was a prominent figure in the religion of Islam and is believed to have received divine revelations from the angel Gabriel. While his teachings have had a significant impact on the world, his life was not without its humorous moments.

One story tells of Muhammad’s love for cats, so much so that he would cut a hole in his cloak to let his cat, Muezza, sleep on his shoulder. As the story goes, when a mouse appeared, Muezza jumped off his shoulder and chased after it, leaving a tear in Muhammad’s cloak. Rather than scolding the cat, Muhammad is said to have simply stitched up the tear himself.

Another tale recounts the time when Muhammad received a gift of honey from a woman he was trying to convert to Islam. Eager to impress her, he ate so much of the honey that he became sick and swore off eating it ever again.

One of the most humorous anecdotes involving Muhammad comes from a tradition where he and his companions were in a battle with an opposing army. As the armies clashed, Muhammad’s companion, Zaid, had his arm sliced off. Shocked by the sight, Muhammad is said to have exclaimed, “There goes our brave warrior’s arm!” To which Zaid reportedly replied, “It’s not my arm, but yours, O Messenger of God!”

Through his teachings and stories like these, Muhammad continues to inspire and entertain people around the world. While his life may have been filled with serious moments, it’s important to remember the human side of this religious figure and the moments that make us all laugh.
