Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is a state located in the northeastern part of the United States. It is known for its delicious cheesesteaks, Amish country, and…uh…other things.
The state’s capital is Harrisburg, which is not as exciting as Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, but they try their best.
Pennsylvania was named after William Penn, who was granted the land by King Charles II in the 17th century. Legend has it that Penn wanted to name the state “New Wales,” but the king was like, “Nah, that’s boring. How about Pennsylvania?” And Penn was like, “Eh, close enough.”
The state is known for its beautiful nature and outdoor activities, but let’s be real, the best part about Pennsylvania is the food. Cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, Tastykakes…it’s a wonder anyone in this state is skinny.
Pennsylvania played a vital role in the American Revolution, including being the location of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia. There’s also Gettysburg, where a really important Civil War battle took place. But let’s be honest, we all know the real historic landmark in Pennsylvania is Hershey’s chocolate world.
Overall, Pennsylvania is a great state with a lot to offer. Just don’t try to parallel park in Philadelphia, unless you want to give yourself a panic attack.
