Scandinavian Countries

The Scandinavian countries include Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Some people may also include Finland and Iceland, but let’s not get too crazy.

Norway

Norway is known for its breathtaking fjords, stunning landscapes, and cold weather. It’s also home to some of the happiest people in the world, probably because they have perfected the art of hygge (coziness). When it comes to food, the Norwegians love their fish, and by that, we mean they really love it. They even have a dish called “lutefisk,” which is essentially preserved fish that has been soaked in lye. Yum.

Sweden

Sweden is a beautiful country with beautiful people, aka the Swedes. They’re known for their love of minimalist design, meatballs, and ABBA. Yes, ABBA. They have a whole museum dedicated to the legendary pop group, so don’t even try to deny their awesomeness. When it comes to social norms, the Swedes embrace the concept of “lagom,” which means “just enough.” So basically, they’re the Goldilocks of Europe.

Denmark

Denmark is the smallest of the Scandinavian countries, but what they lack in size, they make up for in coziness. The Danish have their own version of hygge called “hygge,” and they take it very seriously. They also love their pastries, particularly the famous Danish pastry, which isn’t actually Danish, but we won’t tell them that. The Danes are also known for their impeccable sense of design, and the iconic “Danish modern” style is still influencing interior design today.

Overall, the Scandinavian countries are a wonderful place to visit if you want stunning landscapes, beautiful design, and preserved fish. Just don’t forget to pack your wool sweaters and a healthy appetite.
