Pedia, where learning meets laughter!

Sweden

Sweden is a country located in Northern Europe whose population consists of tall, blonde-haired, blue-eyed people who love meatballs and IKEA.

The country is known for its fabulous scenery, mesmerizing northern lights, and of course, ABBA, the ultimate dancing queen band.

The national language of Sweden is Swedish, which is notoriously difficult to learn. In fact, even the Swedes themselves struggle to properly use the letter “ö” and end up sounding like drunken pirates.

Sweden’s capital city, Stockholm, is famously built on 14 islands. This means that if you accidentally drop your phone in the water, it’s gone forever. Sorry!

The Swedes are famous for their love of “fika”, which is an essential daily coffee break ritual that involves consuming large quantities of cinnamon buns whilst discussing the weather.

In Sweden, the government provides healthcare, education, and daycare services to all citizens - shame they can’t provide better weather!

Swedes are also obsessed with nature and spend most of their time outside. They even have a word for it; “friluftsliv” which roughly translates to “as long as you’re outdoors, your mental health won’t lay you low!”.

Finally, no article on Sweden would be complete without mentioning their favorite pastime, “lagom”. It is a concept that basically means everything in moderation. Not too big, not too small, everything just right. It’s about living a balanced lifestyle, which we all know is the key to happiness - and enjoying life like the Swedes!
