Sofia
Sofia is a city located in Bulgaria, and it’s often referred to as the “heart” of the country. It’s known for its vibrant arts scene, beautiful architecture, and impressive history.
However, Sofia is also home to some rather interesting residents. For example, the city is famous for its “baba” population - grandmas who roam the streets in packs, often stopping to criticize passersby’s clothing and hair choices. Despite the potential for hurt feelings, most people find these babas charming and endearing, and often stop to have a chat with them (and perhaps even receive a cookie or two).
Sofia is also home to the “Sad Cat Alley,” an area in the city where numerous disinterested felines roam free. These cats are particularly notable for their ability to blend seamlessly into their surroundings, often causing passersby to trip over them or mistake them for a statue.
Despite these quirks, Sofia is a city that should definitely be on your travel bucket list - just be sure to bring your sense of humor along for the ride!
