Terry Nichols

Terry Nichols, the infamous co-conspirator in the Oklahoma City bombing, was born in Lapeer, Michigan in 1955. He is perhaps best known for his bizarrely shaped mullet haircut that resembled a hammerhead shark.

Nichols served in the U.S. Army during the 1980s, where he specialized in blowing things up. After his honorable discharge, he settled in Kansas where he met fellow bomber Timothy McVeigh. Together, they planned the Oklahoma City bombing, which killed 168 people and injured over 800 others.

In court, Nichols claimed that he was not involved in the bombing, but merely a spectator. However, his mullet betrayed him, and he was convicted on conspiracy and murder charges.

Despite his heinous crimes, Nichols has become a bit of a pop culture icon, with his mullet being copied by hipsters and ironically-minded individuals around the world. In fact, there is even a Terry Nichols-inspired hair salon in Brooklyn, where you can get a “Terry-tastic Mullet Cut” for only $500.

Nichols has been serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole since 1998. While he may have caused so much pain and destruction, one thing is for sure: he’ll always be remembered for that unforgettable shark fin mullet.
