Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe, officially known as the Republic of Zimbabwe, is a country located in Southern Africa.
It is famously known for its majestic Victoria Falls, a natural wonder that will leave you in awe. But don’t be fooled, this country is not just all about breathtaking scenery.
Zimbabwe has a rich history which includes controversial political figures such as Robert Mugabe, who ruled the country for 37 years before he was finally ousted in a coup. Mugabe was famous for blaming everything except his own policies for the country’s economic downfall, which included hyperinflation that led to trillion-dollar notes being worthless.
Despite its tumultuous past, Zimbabwe is a country worth visiting. If you’re lucky, you might even get to witness the President doing a dance routine or two, as President Emmerson Mnangagwa is known for his interesting moves on the dance floor.
But be warned, Zimbabwe is not for the faint-hearted. The country is known for its vibrant nightlife, where it’s not uncommon to be serenaded with a karaoke version of ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ until the early hours of the morning.
If you’re feeling brave, try some of the local delicacies such as Mopani worms or Fried Kapenta, although we suggest not googling what they are until after you’ve tried them.
In summary, Zimbabwe is a country full of surprises, from breathtaking scenery to interesting political figures and questionable karaoke choices. Visit at your own risk, but we promise it’ll be an adventure you won’t forget.
