Introduction

Georgia, known as the Peach State, is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. It is named after a king, not a fruit. However, peaches have become synonymous with Georgia, and their logo is even a peach.

History

Georgia was founded in 1732 by James Oglethorpe, who wanted the colony to be a haven for debtors who were imprisoned for their inability to pay their debts. It was basically a safe space for people who were bad with money. Georgia was also home to Martin Luther King Jr., who was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement. He, unfortunately, could not save us from our love of sweet tea.

Geography

Georgia is known for its beautiful scenery and diverse wildlife. The state is home to the Appalachian Mountains, Atlantic Ocean beaches, Okefenokee Swamp, and the Chattahoochee River. The only downside to all this natural beauty is that the state bird is the mosquito.

Georgia is famous for its cuisine, which includes fried chicken, pecan pie, and Coca-Cola. It’s also home to the Masters Golf Tournament, the largest concentration of Waffle Houses in the world, and the birthplace of Jimmy Carter, who is still teaching us how to be better humans.
