James Callaghan: The Politician with the Most Memorable Eyebrows

James Callaghan was a British politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1976 to 1979. Known for his expressive eyebrows that seemed to have a life of their own, Callaghan was often referred to as the “brows that ruled Britain.”

Born in Portsmouth in 1912, Callaghan was the son of a naval Chief Petty Officer. He graduated from the University College of Cardiff and later went on to become a teacher before entering politics.
