Sprite

Note: Not to be confused with the carbonated beverage of the same name. Unless you’re really thirsty.

Sprite (plural Sprites or Sproots) is a mischievous creature of folklore, known for its playful pranks and its love for snacking on human snacks.

Appearance: Although it’s not uncommon to find Sprites depicted as small, adorable creatures with delicate wings and glittering fairy dust, the truth is much more terrifying. A Sprite can take on any form it desires, from a human to a household object. Its true form is said to be an amorphous blob, which leaves trails of sticky goo behind it when it moves around.

Behavior: Sproots are infamous tricksters, and are known to prank unsuspecting humans at every opportunity. They’ve been known to steal socks and other small articles of clothing, hide important objects, swap out sugar for salt, and even move furniture around just to see the look on your face when you walk in the room.

Diet: While they might not make the best houseguests, Sprites are well-loved for their insatiable snacking habits. They’ll eat anything and everything they can get their sticky little paws on, from candy to chips to leftover pizza. It’s said that they’re particularly fond of takeout, and will often sneak into restaurants and steal food right off the grill.

Habitat: Sprites are notoriously hard to spot, mostly because they’re just about everywhere. They’re known to live in forests, mountains, and even suburban backyards. They’re also sometimes found living in homes, although most people probably won’t be keen on that idea once they see what a Sprite can do to your living room.

In conclusion, while Sprites might not be the ideal houseguests, they sure are entertaining. If you ever hear strange noises or find your snacks mysteriously missing, it’s probably just a Sprite. Just be sure to keep an eye on your socks.
