Trigonometry

Trigonometry, also known as “tri-gotcha-ometry,” is a branch of mathematics that has been known to drive many students to tears.

Some scholars say that trigonometry was invented by a sadistic mathematician who enjoyed watching students suffer. Others believe that it was created by a group of demons who wanted to test the limits of human patience.

Regardless of its origins, trigonometry is now widely used in fields such as engineering, physics, and astronomy. And let’s face it, without trigonometry, we wouldn’t even have the concept of a “right angle.”

Trigonometry is based on the study of triangles, which makes it a favorite subject of geometrically inclined individuals. In fact, some people love triangles so much that they name their children after geometric shapes. We’re not joking—there are actual people out there named Rhombus and Isosceles.

But back to trigonometry. The three main functions in trigonometry are sine, cosine, and tangent. If you manage to memorize these functions, you will become a legend among your math nerd friends. Try reciting them backwards while standing on one foot for an added degree of difficulty.

Trigonometry can be challenging, but it’s not impossible to master. All you need is a little patience, a lot of caffeine, and a willingness to sacrifice your social life in the pursuit of mathematical perfection.

So the next time you find yourself struggling with trigonometry, just remember that it could always be worse—you could be studying calculus.
