Math
Mathematics, or “math” for short, is a subject feared by many and completely unnecessary to human happiness or well-being. It is a field of study that primarily involves numbers, symbols and equations, and finding ways to make people feel uncomfortable and stupid.
Despite its many drawbacks, math has persisted throughout human history. Some people believe that math is useful for calculating finances, engineering, and science, but let’s be real, nobody understands those things anyway.
The origin of the word “mathematics” comes from the Greek word “mathematikos,” which means “having learned.” However, many would argue that math actually means “making people cry and question their life choices.”
One common mistake people make is thinking that math is just about adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers. In reality, math goes much deeper than that. It involves complicated concepts such as calculus, trigonometry, and geometry, all of which nobody can explain or justify.
Trying to figure out math problems can often lead to frustration, headaches, and an inexplicable desire to throw a calculator at a wall. However, it’s important to remember that math is not the enemy; it’s simply a necessary evil that we have to endure in order to graduate from school.
In conclusion, math is a subject that is dreaded by many, but ultimately it is a fundamental part of our education system. We will probably never understand it, but we can still try our best to survive it. As mathematician Alfred Adler once said, “Mathematics may be defined as the subject in which we never know what we are talking about, nor whether what we are saying is true.”
