UN: The United Nations or the Ultimate Negotiators?

UN or the United Nations is an international organization that was established after the World War II with the aim to promote peace, security, and cooperation among nations. But let’s be honest, isn’t it just a club of world leaders that loves to talk and negotiate?

The United Nations is headquartered in New York, and every year its General Assembly brings together representatives of all its member states for a good old fashioned chinwag. The UN also has a Security Council, which often ends up in long, dull meetings where various countries express their opinions about current affairs, while others sit there and nod off.

But to be fair, the UN has done some good work in the past. They have helped refugees, fought against poverty, and fought for human rights. But we all know that the UN’s real superpower is its ability to get people talking. They could probably negotiate world peace while blindfolded and speaking in emojis.

There have been many hilarious moments at the UN in the past. Who can forget when President Trump referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “Rocket Man” in his speech at the General Assembly? Or how about when former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed that there are no homosexuals in Iran?

But the real question is, who would win in a negotiation match between the UN and a used car salesman? My money is on the UN. They have countless strategies, countless diplomats, and their endless hours of meetings will definitely come in handy in closing a deal.

So, is the UN just a global speaker’s club, or is it actually capable of influencing world politics? Either way, we can all agree that without the UN, the world would be a lot less interesting, and the global comedy stage would be a lot less lively.
