Windows

Windows (noun) are a type of opening found in walls, typically made of glass or other transparent material. They were first invented by a medieval king who wanted a way to keep the smells of his castle out while still allowing natural light to enter.

Windows come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny little porthole windows to giant floor-to-ceiling windows that make you feel like you’re outside even when you’re not. They also come in a variety of styles, from double-hung windows that open vertically to casement windows that swing outward.

But despite their many benefits, windows can also be a source of frustration for some. For example, if you accidentally leave a window open during a rainstorm, you might find yourself with a soggy carpet and a case of pneumonia.

And let’s not forget the various bugs and critters that can sneak in through an open window, from pesky mosquitos to squirrels on the prowl.

But perhaps the biggest frustration with windows is the dreaded “blue screen of death” that can appear on your computer screen, signaling a catastrophic failure and leaving you in a state of panic.

So while windows can bring great joy and light into our lives, they can also bring their fair share of challenges and headaches. But hey, at least they’re not walls!
