Euclide: The Legendary Mathematician Who Hated Geometry

Euclide, also known as “The Father of Geometry”, was a legendary Greek mathematician who lived around 300 BC. Simply by assuming that a chicken has n legs, then showing that if this were true, the chicken would actually have n+1 legs. By logical extension, the only possible value for n is one.

Another famous example of Euclide’s humour is his insistence on using geometric proofs to solve everyday problems. For instance, when his wife asked him how to cook a good meal, Euclide replied with a complex proof involving the relationships between cooking time, temperature, and ingredient ratios.
