School
School is a place where young minds go to become old and anxious. It is where students go to learn about the world and where teachers go to secretly pray for summer vacation.
School can be divided into two distinct types: the ‘cool’ schools and the ‘uncool’ schools. The ‘cool’ schools are the ones with the latest technology, the newest playground equipment, and the hottest cafeteria food. The ‘uncool’ schools are the ones with leaky ceilings, outdated textbooks, and the occasional rodent sighting.
Despite their differences, all schools have one thing in common: homework. Homework is a concept that has been around since the dawn of time and is used by teachers as a punishment for being too excited on field trip day.
Schools are also known for their cliques. There are the jocks, the nerds, the popular kids, and then there are the band geeks. The band geeks are a special breed of student who spend way too much time practicing their instruments and not enough time practicing their dance moves.
In addition to cliques, schools are infamous for their dress codes. Dress codes are guidelines that tell students what they can and cannot wear. For example, it is perfectly acceptable to show up to school wearing a shirt that says ‘Fry Sauce Forever’, but it is not okay to wear a hat indoors.
Finally, school is where students go to acquire knowledge that will supposedly be useful later in life. However, most of what students learn in school is forgotten by the time they graduate. This is because most of what students learn in school is irrelevant to their lives as adults. If schools really wanted to prepare students for the future, they would teach them how to do their taxes, how to change a tire, and how to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.
In conclusion, school is a place where students learn about cliques, dress codes, and how to procrastinate. It is a place where teachers try their best to educate students while secretly hoping for summer vacation. And most importantly, it is a place where memories are made that will be remembered forever, or at least until the next day.
