Hallowell

Hallowell is a quaint little town in Maine, known for its charming small-town vibe and abundance of lobster rolls. It’s also home to some of the quirkiest residents you’ll ever meet.

The town was founded in 1771 by a group of settlers who were looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. They stumbled upon a beautiful spot on the Kennebec River and decided to make it their home. This event is dedicated to all things pig-related, from pig races to BBQ competitions to pig-themed crafts. It’s not uncommon to see visitors walking around with plastic pig noses on, or bacon-shaped hats.

But perhaps the most endearing aspect of Hallowell is its residents. The people of Hallowell are a friendly and outgoing bunch, always happy to strike up a conversation or lend a helping hand. It’s not unusual to see locals riding around on bicycles decorated with flowers, or carrying around bags of freshly-picked apples to share with their neighbors.
