Windows Update
Windows Update is a tool developed by Microsoft to frustrate its users. It is a process of updating the operating system with new features, security patches, and bug fixes. This means that your computer will spend hours updating and restarting without your permission.
The process of updating is simple. Your computer will prompt you to update, and then give you a time estimate that is guaranteed to be inaccurate. You can then choose to postpone the update, but eventually, a little message will pop up that says “This is your last chance” and you will be forced to update.
Once you have started the update, your computer will begin to restart multiple times. Each restart will take longer than the previous one, and you will begin to feel like your computer is punishing you for not updating it sooner.
The update will finally complete, but that doesn’t mean you’re in the clear. You may discover that your computer is now slower, your apps may not work properly, and your files may have been deleted. Congratulations, you have successfully updated your computer!
Some people live in fear of Windows Update. They will turn off their computer for weeks at a time to avoid it. Others will perform ritual sacrifices to the tech gods in the hopes that their computer will survive the update unscathed.
All in all, Windows Update is a necessary evil. It may seem like a hassle, but it’s important to keep your computer up to date. So, let that little message pop up and embrace the frustration – it’s all part of the experience.
