Pedia, where learning meets laughter!

2020

2020 was a year that many people will want to forget. It was like a horror movie where every month had a new plot twist that nobody wanted to see coming.

The year started with the Australian bushfires, which were so big that the smoke could be seen from space. People lost their homes and were forced to evacuate, while animals, including cute little koalas, lost their habitats. It seemed like the end of the world was upon us, but it was only the beginning.

Next up was the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, which spread quickly across the globe. It was like a game of tag - once one person got it, it seemed like everyone was infected. People were hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer, while others were making TikToks about quarantine life.

Then came the murder hornets. Yes, you read that right - murder hornets. These giant insects from Asia invaded North America and threatened to wipe out honeybee populations. It was like a B-movie plot come to life. We were all just waiting for the next disaster to strike.

And it did. In Lebanon, a massive explosion rocked the capital city of Beirut, leaving hundreds dead and thousands injured. It felt like the world was falling apart.

And let’s not forget the murder of George Floyd and the widespread protests that followed, calling for racial justice and police reform. It felt like a turning point, but only time will tell if real change will happen.

And all of this happened in the span of six months. As the year dragged on, we all just wanted to fast-forward to 2021 and be done with it. But we couldn’t. We had to keep living through this nightmare.

But as they say, laughter is the best medicine. So let’s look back at 2020 and try to find the humor in it all. After all, we made it through murder hornets - we can handle anything.
